Comedy Club with Craig Murray, Lee Ridley AKA Lost Voice Guy & compere Chris Brooker

Hurrah! It’s the Span Arts Comedy Club! This month we’ve got some great comedians for you, even the guy off the PlusNet adverts, Craig Murray!

Craig cut his comedy teeth as resident compere at award-winning London club The Funny Side...of Covent Garden sharing a stage with some of the very best comedy acts in the business including Harry Hill, Stewart Lee and even Hollywood legend Robin Williams.

He rapidly became a master of the compere's art; able to turn any crowd from a lacklustre mob into a clapping, cheering, delirious audience ready to laugh all night.

Within just 1 month of breaking into doing his own stand-up sets, he had reached the final of The Other Side New Act of the Year competition and within 3, the final of the coveted Hackney Empire New Act of the Year. In the last two years he has also appeared in a comedy film alongside Adam Hills and Brendon Burns and recorded a comedy pilot for the BBC.

Second act of the evening is Lost Voice Guy, a comedian to be admired. Lee Ridley AKA Lost Voice Guy can’t talk but isn’t silent. He is (probably) the first stand-up comedian to use a communication aid.

Lee has Cerebral Palsy, but really doesn’t let that stop him! Ross Noble has described him as ‘a very funny guy’ and even Matt Lucas said he was ‘wonderfully funny’.

“Funny, personal, occasionally shocking and frequently mischievous.”  - The Independent

Finding humour in strange places is one of Lost Voice Guy’s strengths.” – The Guardian

Compere for the night is Chris Brooker. A gifted performer, Chris Brooker has taken his unique mix of comedy and improvisation to stages all over the world. After a decade on the UK comedy circuit Chris has forged a fine reputation for himself as a stand-up comedian and compere.

His versatility has seen him play to audiences of all sizes and backgrounds, winning them over with his infectious enthusiasm, swift wit and immense likeability. Dubbed comedy's ginger Viking by a promoter, he really is a larger than life character.

“Very funny, very quick… On the spot humour.” – BBC
