Friday, 11 November 2016 - Presented by: The Queens Hall

Charles Dickens, in addition to being one of the world's greatest writers, was an expert conjurer.  He was also sceptical about spiritualism, which was a popular pastime in the 1800's.

This humourous and mystifying show recreates how Dickens deceived his audiences and why, to quote a famous contemporary, Elizabeth Browning, he was "fond of Ghost stories so long as they were impossible"

Ian premiered The Secret World of Charles Dickens at the Charles Dickens Museum in London in 2012, the bicentennial of Dickens birth.

He has appeared on the Alan Titchmarsh Show, bamboozling fashion guru Gok Wan with an Artful Dodger vanish of his watch.

An  evening  for all the family, not to be missed.

Time Out described Ian as "a charismatic magician". He is a Member of The Inner Magic Circle and has won their prestigious Comedy Award. He has written Charles Dickens Magician: Conjuring in Life, Letters and Literature.
