Duke Ellington & The Nutcracker Suite

You'd be hard pressed to find a Big Band as swinging, as entertaining and versatile as the Royal Welsh College Big Band who are going from strength to strength under the directorship of Robert 'Teddy' Smith. Join them this Christmas for American pianist, composer and bandleader Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s jazz interpretation of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite.
Followed by a celebration of the work of Ellington with some great vocal numbers, paying homage to Ella Fitzgerald and Mahalia Jackson.
