The true story of King Seretse Khama of Botswana and how his marriage to an English woman created political and diplomatic turmoil in Africa and Britain. When the African prince and law student Seretse falls in love with London secretary Ruth, their romance stirs up a whirlwind of diplomatic conflict, revealing the deep-rooted racism of the post-war British establishment and the suspicion of Seretse’s subjects.
