Award Winners - Live Entertainment Venue of the year 2017

The Welsh Hospitality awards 2017 recently took place in Cardiff Bay and it is with great excitement that we can announce that The Queens Hall, Narberth won the 'Live Entertainment Venue of the Year' award in The Welsh Hospitality Awards 2017!  And this in our 60th year!

On winning the award, The Queens Hall team stated; “We would like to thank all staff, trustees, customers and promoters that have supported us in getting to where we are today, we couldn't have done it without them. It is a phenomenal feeling to know that all of the hard work pays off in the end and it is fantastic to be recognized for our efforts in bringing quality events to Pembrokeshire”

The Queens Hall is a charity, events and community venue that has been strongly established in the heart of Narberth since the 50’s. The venue welcomes a variety of events ranging from music to comedy shows and additionally hosts a range of classes such as Pilates, Kung Fu, art exhibitions and creative workshops. Molara Awen, Chair, said “The Queens Hall is operated and managed by a small team of part-time staff and volunteer trustees and possesses an ethos that maintains the primary aim of giving back to the local community. This ethos consists of values such as encouraging a diverse programme, supporting community projects and Live Music and ensuring that our events are accessible to all individuals in the community. The Trustees are pleased that the Queens Hall was nominated at The Welsh Hospitality Awards and delighted to win, under the category of Best "Live Entertainment Venue of the Year”.

With over 23 million views on just one of his YouTube videos, his songs are popular all  over the World. Georgia Jones; The Queens Hall Event Coordinator and community Liaison, said “To have been shortlisted in the same category as the likes of The Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff was a privilege in itself, but to have won, we couldn't be happier”.

Mike Westerman; Administrator, said ‘This award has reassured us that sometimes you just can't beat an old school, local event venue, and despite the fact that we are an incredibly small team and a charity, it is great to know that our passion for the hall and its community doesn't go unnoticed'.

Jez King from the legendary and local band; Regime, commented ‘The Queens Hall is an absolute gem of a place. I have lived in West Wales for over 20 years and this is hands down the best live music venue in this part of the world. It has served generations of music and dance lovers’. ‘Well done’.
