Position: Marketing Manager
Responsible to: The Queens Hall Narberth Manager
Location: The Queens Hall Narberth
Salary: £27,300 - £30,225 (based on experience)
Hours: FT 37.5
Holiday allowance – 5.6 weeks (pro rata)
The Queens Hall Narberth is well-established live events and community venue in the heart of Narberth, Pembrokeshire. As a registered charity, we deliver hundreds of live events including gigs, comedy and theatre annually, plus offer room hire, classes, workshops and corporate events. We also operate the brand-new music bar and cafe, BOCS Narberth.
The successful candidate will develop and deliver a new marketing strategy for the Queens Hall Narberth, creating compelling, multi-channel campaigns which connect audiences with our programme and wider activities. This would cover our income-generating activity as well as our charitable and artistic aims.
The successful candidate will work across departments to capture and create content encompassing the multi-faceted nature of the venue with the goal of increasing footfall/revenue. This will include the development and delivery of a marketing strategy for BOCS Narberth.
A core element of this role will be implementing and reviewing paid social media advertising.
This post in not suitable for remote working. Flexibility is essential; the successful candidate will be required to work evenings/weekends for content capture.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop and deliver a new marketing strategy for the Queens Hall Narberth. This would include;
- Digital media (website, blogs, e-newsletters)
- Social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn)
- Paid advertising strategy – across digital and hard copy platforms
- E-newsletters and mailouts
- Developing Brand toolkit
- Design and distribute printed marketing materials
2. Content capture & creation. This would include;
- Photo, video and audio capture at live events + gigs
- Create organic stories and content across digital platforms
- Marketing asset design to include posters, flyers, brochures and digital assets
- Writing regular press releases and blogs
- Collecting community content and creating stories
3. SM platforms + website management
- Developing and delivering effective SM posting schedule
- Replying to and interacting with followers and customers
- Managing the QHN online community group
- Managing website and ticketing pages
- SEO and web analytics knowledge
- Basic knowledge of html advantageous
4. Networking and outreach
- Undertaking outreach/engagement work to public + private sector organisations to increase sales, bookings and other services the venue provides
- Attending third/community sector networking events locally and regionally to promote the venue and the services provided
- Any other outreach work as deemed appropriate, in agreement with the line manager
5. Budget management
- Manage marketing activities against agreed monthly budgets
6. Analysis & reporting
- Ongoing analysis of results and spend against agreed KPIs
- Monthly progress reports to Management team
Person Specification
To be successful in this role you will be a creative and strategic thinker, with demonstrable experience in audience development and community engagement. You will have the confidence to capture content and have experience in effective storytelling (written and visual). Though relevant qualifications are welcomed, experience in Live arts marketing will be prioritised. A passion for live music is highly valued.
Essential skills:
- Proven track record developing and delivering effective marketing strategies, across digital and traditional channels
- Expertise in content creation for Social Media channels
- Photography and video content
- Graphic design experience; posters, images and other formats as needed
- Copywriting; digital copy, press releases and other formats
- Demonstrable experience in delivering effective paid marketing strategies
- Demonstrable experience using digital analytics for social media platforms, Google analytics plus an understanding of SEO concepts
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively across different departments
Desirable skills:
- Written and spoken Welsh language
- Driving license
- HTML knowledge
